Who we are
Dehradun Military Academy (DMA) is a private defence-preparation institute. It provides NDA-focused academic preparation, SSB orientation, personality development and physical fitness training, and also prepares students for several other defence-entry examinations.
The residential campus in Mussoorie offers a focused, disciplined mountain environment away from city distractions, bringing together schooling, NDA preparation, physical training and personality development.

The Director
Mr. Sandeep Tamta
Mr. Sandeep Tamta has over 10 years of experience in defence-academy training. He qualified the CDSE and NDA exams and was conferenced out at the SSB. He holds a Master’s in Psychology, takes the psychology and SSB classes at DMA, and teaches psychology across 17 CBSE schools in India.
How we work
Genuine, not rehearsed
For the SSB, students learn to understand themselves and express their real personality with confidence, not to memorise answers.
Soft discipline
Ex-Army wardens build routine, consistency and accountability. Mistakes are corrected, not punished.
Learning by doing
Students plan real activities themselves: events, tours and sports tournaments.
Our honest promise
We prepare students for the journey, not only the exam
DMA cannot promise selection. Selection ultimately depends on the student’s own performance. What DMA provides is the environment, guidance, discipline and preparation to help a serious student give their best, and to prepare them for the journey towards becoming an officer.
Schooling and affiliation
DMA is an organisation that prepares students for defence entry. For schooling, it works through an academic tie-up, much as the National Defence Academy itself is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru University rather than awarding degrees on its own. A counsellor explains the school and course structure for the student’s class.
